Goodbye Baby Buntings

Sadly, the baby buntings have died. They suffered no trauma, as far as I can tell. Mama Bunting has been notably absent the past couple of days, so I wonder if the local stray cat (or some other predator) got her. It would explain the babies inability to survive the colder temperatures the last few nights.

Daddy Bunting is still here, so I have hope that perhaps Mama Bunting is alive and well, taking care of a new nest somewhere nearby.
