Oh, delight! I just made a paper lily! I know it's silly - it's just a bit of folded paper, but I'm super excited and pleased with how this turned out.
If I were making these for a project I would use a different paper - I just grabbed a sheet from my stash of 12 X 12 scrapbook paper. I would probably use a solid or semi-solid color and perhaps I'd use a slightly thinner paper. This turned out really well, though and the size is exactly what I was looking for.
If you're interested in making your own, here is a link to the tutorial I used.
I want to make paper flowers at craft day.
ReplyDeleteYou want to make the ones I posted before, right? Or are you wanting to make these, too? I planned to do the other paper flowers and bows.
ReplyDeleteHmm...now if I could just make them a miniature size to put on cards. Don't know how they'd do in the mail though. They would be really cute though!
ReplyDeleteSara, in the tutorial she says not to use paper less than 20 cm square lest it be too hard to fold. I'm not sure they'd work on cards, but they'd be awesome in shadow boxes and the like.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I figured. :( I have seen the flowers on other things and on paper cakes. And I saw on one lady's blog that all of the flowers for her daughter's wedding were made out of paper. What a lot of work, but they were actually very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe other flowers will be totally cool :) I'll make whatever you want to teach. lol
ReplyDeleteNow I need to do a quick search through your posts and find the recipe for the pull apart rolls so I can make them for thanksgiving.
